Carbon and Climate Change

Global warming and climate change are one of the greatest environmental challenge of our time. Rising concentrations of greenhouse gases have risen the global average temperature of the earth. This has started altering the climatic patterns of different geographies and is bound to increase further as the earth becomes warmer. 

Governments as well as private sector organizations have come forward to combat climate change. In this journey, GE3S has assisted several of its clients in identifying their contribution to global warming and devising a plan to manage the greenhouse gas emissions throughout their operation and supply chain. 

Carbon footprint is the total greenhouse gas emissions caused by an individual, event, organization, or product, expressed as carbon dioxide equivalent.  

We assist our clients in identifying and quantifying their GHG emissions calculating their corporate or product or event carbon footprint and also assist in becoming carbon neutral.

We follow globally accepted methodologies for e.g. GHG Protocol, Carbon Trust, ISO 14064, PAS 2050 etc.  

We help companies in developing long term carbon strategy to reduce their emissions and mitigate climate change. Below are the steps through which we help our clients in developing carbon strategy.  

• Calculate carbon footprint including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. 
• Develop strategies for portfolio-scale performance improvements, ranked by impact, cost, feasibility and long-term vs short-term strategies.

Consumers are preferring green and sustainable products. Climate change awareness has increased, and several companies are making their products carbon neutral in order to differentiate their products from competitors. 

GE3S assists companies in assessing product carbon footprint and then offsetting the emissions through GHG emission reduction projects approved by the United Nation. 

A carbon offset is a reduction in emissions of carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases made in order to compensate for emissions made elsewhere. 

We help clients generate and trade high quality carbon credits that are credible, transparent and tradable in global carbon markets. 

We also develop projects specific to Sustainable Development Goals, as per requirements from the clients. 

Globally several airports have embarked on the journey to become greener, cleaner and more efficient. As the Centrepoint of a complex web of aircraft movements, technical operations and surface access transport, airports can address their CO2 emissions in a variety of ways. In order to promote GHG emission reduction at Airports Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) Program was initiated in 2009. The airports are provided with following four levels of accreditation based on the action they take on GHG emission reduction: 

• Mapping 
• Reduction 
• Optimization 
• Neutrality
